All alone,but not lonely....This strenuous section of the Eagle Walk, travelling from Aschau to Steinberghaus Lodge, is one of the best places to take some quiet time listening to nature and absorbing the unspoiled scenery.

From Aschau walk southwards towards Oberland Hut, and then take the toll road into Unterer Grund. Keep to the right bank of Unterer-Grund-Ache River and follow it downstream into the valley. The road crosses the river and leads to the car park at Hintenbach. Turn right and climb the slope on the left hand side. Follow the signs to Hintenkar-Niederalm and Hintenkar-Hochalm Alpine Pasture Huts. Continue to Hintenkarscharte Notch and descend on the other side on a rolling singletrack trail. Down in the valley keep to the right and walk out until you reach Scheibenschlag-Hochalm and Niederalm Alpine Pasture Huts. Finally, a forest road runs down to Windautal Valley where you will find Steinberghaus Lodge.
